Village Lunches menu w/c 18th Jan

The first Village Lunches menu is offering:

  • Slowly braised rump of Cumbrian fell bread lamb, root vegetables, rich gravy, layered potatoes.

or

  • Roast root vegetable hot pot, Spring herbs and layered potatoes.

The meal needs to be ordered by lunchtime on Tuesday 19th January.

It will be delivered between 12.30 and 13.00 on Thursday 21st January.

Paying : you are asked for a donation with a minimum amount of £4. Please make your donation via Bacs payment and put BPY and your surname in the reference box ( e.g. BPY_SMITH )

Village Lunches – Ken seeks delivery volunteers

The Longlands will be piloting their “Village Lunches” from Thursday next, the 21st January. Click here for more information.

Volunteers: We have enough delivery volunteers to start but we need more to create a rota. It is a commitment of around 45 minutes. This service is planned for the next 6 weeks. If you can spare the time and you are not in a vulnerable group, please contact Ken (0777 119 3665 or kendunn.1952@outlook.com)

Buddies : our informal Buddy system I know is working really well. If you are buddying up with someone could you please make sure that they know about this opportunity and maybe help them with the ordering and donation payment

Ordering : we will advertise the weekly menu via email, the WhatsApp group and  the B&PH Website. You need to order by Tuesday lunchtime by phone (07423560486) or email (sales@longlandshotel.co.uk)

Paying : you are asked for a donation with a minimum amount of £4. After costs are deducted the surplus will come back to us for charitable purposes. We estimate that will be a little over £1 per meal. Delivery : your meals will be delivered to your doorstep  between 12:30 and 13:00 on Thursday. The volunteer will ring or knock then step away from your door.

“Village Lunches”

Village Lunches” are a hot, ready to eat, nutritious lunch delivered to your door.

Available every Thursday from Thursday 21st January until Thursday 25th March 2021.A temporary service run by local volunteers offering not only a hot, nutritious meal on a regular basis but also a friendly face on delivery to make sure that isolating neighbours are warm and well within the communities of Borwick, Priest Hutton and The Yealands. 

A donation of £4.00 per meal is welcome.

Meals must be ordered by 1pm Tuesday for Thursday delivery.  We aim to make all deliveries between 12pm and 1pm.

Vegetarian meals available upon request and other dietry requirments may be possible with prior arrangement.
