WOMENS INSTITUTE

Yes, you would never know to look at us but we are definitely 90 years young

this year!   By way of celebrating with both villages, we are holding a non-profit making coffee morning. This will be on the 21st May in the Memorial Hall when we are planning to display the huge books which contain the archives and part of our history.   Times have changed quite a bit since 1921!

Most of this material was collected over the years and kept by the late  June

Haythornthwaite and contains pictures of neighbours who have moved on over the years, some of their houses, and the way the villages looked 90 years ago.  You may recognise your house.

Our speaker for the 12th April will be Trisha Buzzard with a talk on the subject of the Canal Trust.  You would be very welcome should you wish join us.

The next  meeting open to visitors is on 14th June when Jaqueline Iddon will speak on the subject of Pots of Interest.

Meetings take place in the Memorial Hall at 7.30pm.

New members always welcome.
